ENGLISH DEBATE CONTEST AND SCIENTIFIC WRITING CONTEST

This week is the fortune week for our school. Last Wednesday, September 19, 2012 , SMPN 1 Binuang debate team battled in Regional English Debate Contest in Rantau. Ana Khawarizna, Syifa Saputri Berlian, both belong to class VIII E, and Violita Sari, class VIII A, battled for the third winner in the contest.

             Although they were only the third winner from 17 teams, but of course we are very proud of them. They have brought a good name for our school, after last few years we hadn’t win anything. Moreover, the trio only had 1 day to prepare everything for the contest. Feeling they would lose at first, but the fact that they won the third cup makes all of them feeling confident to follow another contest next.

             Not only we won English Debate Contest, but also we won Scientific Writing, also as the third winner in Lambung Mangkurat University Banjarbaru . Abdillah Ridha Setiawan, class VIII B, Noor Isva Apriliani, class VII D, and Wahyu Noor Safitriono, class VIIIE brought the title “The Utilization of the Coconut Water Waste to Increase the Growth of Orchid”, had won the third winner from 30 teams all over junior high school in our province.

             The team, accompanied by Ibu Satriya as the OSIS administrator, went to Banjarbaru on Saturday, September 22, 2012. They finally succeeded to won the third place after SMPN 1 amuntai as the first and SMP Darul Hijrah as the second. Also had only few days preparation, the team add the cup to our school.

Well, congratulation guys! You have done the best for our school.

             Our headmaster, Bapak Asy’ari is also very proud of them. The sixth of them have given good name of our school SMPN 1 Binuang. He hopes that other students can follow them to achieve such achievement.

             So, why don’t we study harder than before to increase our achievement? If they can do that, why don’t we? Just belive in your self that you can! And make our teachers proud of us! Go SMPN 1 Binuang students!

             Minggu ini adalah minggu keberuntungan bagi sekolah kita. Betapa tidak? Dalam minggu ini ada dua prestasi yang diberikan siswa-siswi SMPN 1 Binuang pada sekolah kita ini. Rabu, 19 September 2012 sekolah kita mengirimkan satu tim untuk mengikuti Lomba Debat Bahasa Inggris se-Kabupaten Tapin di Rantau. Ana Khawarizna, Syifa Saputri Berlian, keduanya kelas VIII E, dan Violita Sari, kelas VIII A telah berjuang untuk menang dan akhirnya meraih juara ke 3.

             Meskipun cuma meraih juara ke 3 dari  17 tim, namun tentu saja kita sangat bangga akan prestasi mereka tersebut. Apalagi persiapan mereka hanya satu hari sebelum lomba, sehingga awalnya mereka kurang pede untuk bisa menang. Namun kenyataan bahwa mereka bisa meraih juara 3 dengan persiapan yang sangat sedikit itu membuat mereka yakin untuk bisa memenangkan lomba pada kesempatan yang akan datang.

             Tidak hanya memenangkan lomba debat, tim lain juga memenangkan lomba Karya Tulis Ilmiah tingkat provinsi di Universitas Lambung Mangkurat Banjarbaru. Abdillah Ridha Setiawan, kelas VIII B, Noor Isva Apriliani, kelas VII D, and Wahyu Noor Safitriono, kelas VIIIE menghadirkan judul “Pemanfaatan Limbah Air Kelapa Muda untuk Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Anggrek”, telah meraih juara ke 3 dari 30 tim dari seluruh sekolah menengah se Kal-Sel.

             Kepala Sekolah kita, Bapak Drs. Asy’ari merasa sangat bangga dengan prestasi yang diraih siswa-siswi berprestasi tersebut. Beliau mengharapkan agar para siswa lain dapat mengikuti jejak mereka dan membawa nama baik sekolah.

Jadi kenapa kita juga tidak ikut mengharumkan nama sekolah kita? Kalau mereka bisa, kita juga pasti bisa, dengan belajar sungguh-sungguh.

Jadi, selamat ya buat para pemenang…tingkatkan terus prestasi kalian!
